Paul Valiulis

Paul is a 4th year undergraduate psychology student with an intense passion for nutrition, training, and the psychology of body transformation.

Having spent this past summer in Australia, Paul held a research internship position at Monash University in Melbourne, examining the efficacy of different diet and exercise programs currently being recommended by the Australian Center for Obesity Research & Education. Upon returning in the fall, he took up a position as the UWO Women’s Field Hockey strength & nutrition coach and has since served as a consultant to the Men’s and Women’s Junior Ontario Field Hockey teams.

A formerly ’scrawny’ marathon-runner and triathlete, Paul switched over to the world of strength training when he came across a book called “Scrawny to Brawny” by Dr. John Berardi. Since experiencing his own dramatic transformation, Paul has been incessantly trying to motivate those around him to change their own lives through the simple practices of exercise, philosophy, and diet.

In 2011, Paul hopes to pursue a Masters in Applied Sport Psychology at Victoria University in Melbourne. Before that, he’ll be finishing up his honors thesis (on Sprint Interval Training and self-efficacy), moving to Vancouver, and excitedly contributing as much as he can to the online team at Precision Nutrition. Paul aspires to serve as a full-time, internationally-recognized sport psychologist for the summer Olympic games.

He can be found frequenting the Western Student Recreation Center with his foam rollerĀ or on the forums of theĀ Western Gym Team (Facebook).
